Last month I took a trip to Beijing Zoo. There are about 500 species of animals there. The tour guide said Beijing Zoo is one of the largest zoos in Asia. During last year’s summer vacation, I also went once. I saw horses, pandas, tigers, and other animals there. I especially like pandas, but unfortunately most of them were sleeping at the time. The day I went happened to be Children's Day on June 1st, and many parents took their children to the zoo. There were many people lining up at the entrance, and the zoo was extremely lively. The pandas were especially lively, too, and I also took quite a few photos of them. Giant pandas have chubby bodies, and they look extremely cute. But there aren’t many of them; right now there are only a little over a thousand worldwide in total, I guess. In the past, only China had giant pandas. To show goodwill, starting in 1957, China gave giant pandas as gifts to some other countries. Now, people in many countries can see giant pandas in their own countries.
